Well, seniors in Interactive Media are getting out Web Portfolios checked today. If we do well enough we could get some credits for Edison. So, hopefully everyone does a good job. I did mine in Weebly. I could have used Dreamweaver, but that Senioritis of mine really kicked in.
I still think I did an okay job though I’m sure some are better than others. Everyone has different things they are good at, so I’m sure you’ll be able to tell our strong suits through this. Four more days left!!

Capstone Presentations went very well. Everyone was a little nervous, but everyone also did very well. We had a nice audience, and everyone was respectful. It was a good experience, and once it was my turn I wasn’t as nervous as I expected myself to be. I’m glad I go the chance to do this and I think it will help me in my future careers.

Well capstone presentations are today. Everyone is pretty nervous, but excited at the same time. Especially me! I am very nervous, but I am ready to show off the work that I have done. We will be presenting during our lab, and I am second to last to go. Hopefully everything goes well. We practiced once, and my timing was good. I think everything will go okay and everyone will do good. Wish us luck!

I would like to say these last few days have been fun and meaningful. It’s sad to see friends going off to college without me, but they will still be there when i get there next year. A lot of my friends are going into the military, and some of them are leaving sooner than expected, so it leads to a sad departing.
I got a new truck for graduation from my dad, so that has been one goal – to get it done before school is out. Thanks for this opportunity at the best time of my life.

Today was the first day back to work for two weeks and I would have to say it went very well. The bad thing about coming back to work after two weeks of school is you forget a lot! I am not even talking about what I have been taught. I’m talking about all my tools, all my lunch and even my pen! But that all comes with not being there for two weeks. I still worked hard and we got all we had to done!
It is getting hard to believe that I only have one more week of school before I graduate. We have been relentlessly planning my graduation party. It is sad to think I will be done with high school and be released into the real world to fend for myself, but I’m pretty confident that I will be able to handle it and do just fine.

We took the long bus ride home yesterday. Leaving Chicago was disappointing for all of who went even if we were getting homesick. We went to Willis Tower, The Marilyn Monroe statue, The Bean, ate deep dish pizza, saw the Blue Man Group and a lot more. Paxton and I made finals in our respective competitions, and (our school) also had three other certified for different things and another top Ten for Fundamentals of Web Development.
I believe that no matter what field we each choose to go into that we will be better because of this experience. There was a great amount of culture to see along with the experience of actual competition in a professional field. We all got over some bumps and learned how to adapt to people, judges, and situations that we may find ourselves in.

I had my last meeting with my mentor, and I wrote my refelection paper. I learned so much through this experience, and it made my skills stronger. Now in Lab I’ll be working on getting my speech ready for our presentations for our capstone, and I’ll also be working on my Web Portfolio. Only three more weeks of school left, and we still have so much to do in so little time. Hopefully everything will get done the way it should.
Too bad I have senioritis to its fullest.

Paxton and I leave on Tuesday for Chicago. We won’t be back until Sunday. I hope we will go to the Party at the Pier and see the Bean! Not really sure what is going to happen, but it will be a good experience.

These last few weeks of school are going to be crazy. I finally finished my capstone project, the website turned out really good. www.toddbackerphotography.com (that’s the link to it.) Now since I am finished with that, I am working on my senior portfolio. I started my portfolio in Dreamweaver, but then I realized how little time I had – there was a very slim chance of me getting it done. So I switched to weebly. Not only is it easier but it is so much faster. Now I should hopefully get it done the way I want it. Only four more weeks of school for Seniors. I am beyond excited! I can’t wait to start a new chapter in my life and get away from high school. Good things are going to come our way.
